SMTP Server Username/Password? - Gmail Community

Hi all, So, I've searched and searched, using a new US version Hikvision 8 port POE NVR (DS-7608NI-E2 series) with the latest firmware (3.4.95 build 170626), and I've tried my mail server address as well as actual IP address, also changed from router DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 google DNS 2. Verify the mail server (smtp.gmail.com), user name and reenter the password. 3. Verify that the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is selected. 4. Return to "Email/I-Fax Settings" and u nder "Specify Port Number for SMTP TX/POP RX", set 465 for SSL (or 587 for TLS). This was set to port 25. In the past, I didn't notice the SMTP Ports setting. 5. Gmail has the SMTP server "smtp.gmail.com" (without quotes) and will use port 465 with SSL encryption and port 587 with TLS encryption. Please note that with Gmail you will need to allow less secure apps to connect in the Gmail account options. For details on allowing less secure apps to connect see Option 2 in this link. On your device or in your app, on port 25, 465, or 587, connect to smtp-relay.gmail.com. Use the Gmail SMTP Server If you connect using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) or Transport Layer Security (TLS), you can send mail to anyone if you use smtp.gmail.com as your server.

Jun 24, 2016 · We have scan-to-email setup on our Xeroxs. They all point to a Ubuntu VM that has stunnel4 setup as a rely to smtp.gmail.com:25. (We block all outgoing smtp traffic except for that one rely server) It has been working fine for 3 years. Yesterday it stopped. Here is the relevant log output:

After spending all day trying understand my exception: {"Unable to read data from the transport connection: net_io_connectionclosed."} I started looking around the net for this exception message.
